Our Dining Room and a WINNER!

Well…so much for posting the winner of the amazing necklace from my friend Tahra’s shop this morning.
Do you have those days where you realize it’s 10:33 PM and you have no idea where the day went?
I went to Trader Joes for groceries and then dropped some fabric off to be made into panels and pillows for the boys’ room.
The only other thing I did was make dinner for my parents and prepare for a garage sale.
And now it’s 10:33 PM and the day is gooooone.
Speaking of dinner….let me just go on record saying that summer is my favorite season to cook dinner.
{grilled pork tenderloin, grilled vegetable kabobs and baked potatoes}
easy, peasy, over, cleaned up and done.

Before I announce the winner, I thought I’d show pictures of our dining room and give you some details.
Nothing in this room is new except for the light fixture that I splurged on.
I wish its story included something more nostalgic than just being from Pottery Barn, but it doesn’t.
I caved and went with the big box store.
The room is on the front of the house and gets a ton of natural light.
I went with a tall board and batten in the room in a stark white with three feet up above.
The paint color above the board & batten is Southern Breeze by Porter Paints.
{I went with this light and airy color throughout the whole house except for Lydia’s room}
It’s the closest I could get to a white house…I totally wimped out on all white!
Anywho, we actually love it…it’s very calming.
The only thing I really have to do in the room is figure out a fabric for the panels in there.
That’ll take me forever to figure out because I’ll analyze it to death.
It’s a good thing I like bare windows cause they’re gonna be that way for a while!

I think I’ve mentioned my cow print before, but just in case you’re new around here….
I got this painting in Senoia, GA at an adorable antique shop.
I’ve seen them in other stores, so I know it’s a copy if you’re wanting one for your home, too.
I made mine a little more original looking by adding the barn wood frame around it.
I love that the barn wood comes from one of the barns at my parents’.
I’ve also named my cows.  Do you ever name your stuff?
They are Carl and Exie, affectionally named after my grandparents.

Y’all know when I say that I made it original by adding the barn wood frame that I’m reeeeaaally saying my husband did the work, right?  {just wanted us to be on the same page}

Okay…had enough of my Friday night off-the-charts-A.D.D. ramblings?
The winner of the give away was Debby, commenter #5.
Congratulations!!  I’m going to email Tahra with your contact information.
