Need an easy, on-the-go dessert?

We had small group at our house this past week,
and my day got away from me before I remembered that I needed a dessert to serve.
I went to my handy, dandy sweet tooth board to find something to make
because that place never lets me down.
I knew I needed to find something with very few ingredients and preferably something
that I had all the ingredients for on hand.
It didn’t take me long to find a recipe for something called Neiman Marcus Bars,
which are very, very similar to Paula Deen’s Ooey, Gooey Bars.:)
My mother in law has been making these the whole 17 years I’ve known her,
and she calls them Vanilla Bars!!

YOU can call them whatever you’d like, just be sure to make them because they’re delicious!!!

Mix one box of yellow cake mix with ONE egg and a stick of MELTED butter.
{use a mixer}
Spray a 9X13 dish and spread the cake mixture out into the pan.
Bake at 300* for about ten minutes

While you’re waiting on the crust to finish baking,
mix 1 lb. of powdered sugar with two eggs and an 8 oz package of cream cheese.
When your crust is finished, pour your icing mixture over the baked crust.
Bake at 300* for about 40 minutes.
Here are the five ingredients all in one place for you!
1 box yellow cake mix
3 eggs
1 stick of butter
1 8 oz package cream cheese
1 lb powdered sugar

{thankful for}
